While using Juno, my computer crashed, or I had a power failure. Now, the email messages I downloaded are missing. (Juno 5.0)

Unfortunately, we cannot resend messages that you may have accidentally deleted. Once you download your email messages, they are deleted from our central computers and we cannot retrieve them. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you know who sent you the messages that were lost, you may want to ask the person to send them to you again.

If your hard drive crashed and you had to reinstall the Juno software, you can easily get your account back on your computer by importing it. Just reinstall the Juno software on your computer and then import your account.

Please note, because your account information is stored on Juno's central computers, you can quickly send your account information to any computer you choose. Your Address Book, old email messages and folders, however, are stored on your computer's hard drive and probably cannot be restored if your hard drive crashed and you had to reformat it.

To import your account:

  1. Install Juno from the Juno CD-ROM or from the downloaded setup file. (You can download Juno from http://my.juno.com/s/download.)
  2. On this computer, start Juno.
  3. In the Welcome to Juno window, click Import Account to start the Import Account Wizard that will guide you through the import process.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screens of the Import Account Wizard. If you need help on a particular screen of the wizard, click the Help button.

If you previously disabled access to your account from other computers, you will need to first enable access before you can import your account.

To Enable Remote Access In Juno 3.0 or later:

  1. Start Juno on the computer where you originally disabled the remote access.
  2. Go to the Options menu and select Password and Security.
  3. In the Password and Security window that appears, ensure that the box next to Allow access to my account from other computers under Security is checked. If it is not, check it.
  4. Click OK.

To Enable Remote Access In Juno 2.0:

  1. Go to the Options menu, select Remote Access, and click Enable.

If you need further assistance in enabling remote access for your account, click here for a list of other support options.

You can also send the following details to postmaster@juno.com to get remote access enabled for your account.

  1. Your Juno email ID (the user name associated with your account)
  2. Your Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Note: If you are writing from another account, we cannot process your request unless you send us the PIN associated with the original account.

You can create a four-digit Juno PIN by visiting our Web site at https://account.juno.com/s/pincreate

Note: You need your password to create a PIN
